Nantcol
has a very spacious living room downstairs with open fires at either
end. The large farmhouse kitchen is fully equipped including an
oil fired Rayburn stove as well as an electric cooker, fridge/freezer,
microwave, washing machine, liquidizers, plenty of china, glass
and cutlery. The massive kitchen table has been in the house for
more than two centurys (similar examples can be found in some of
the farmhouses down the valley). There is an ancient stable door
(see the dates carved into the door) which leads to the outside
and the second w.c.
Upstairs
via a staircase from the drawing room:
- 1
Large double bedded room
- 1
Twin bedded room
- Bathroom
and w.c.
- A
large ‘hayloft’ bedroom with 3 single beds and a
cot.
This room also has its own outside stone staircase
to another w.c. and to the garden.
The
whole house is beautifully furnished with many fine and interesting
pieces of authentic Welsh furniture including a splendid dresser
displaying Welsh china. The old tiled floors are covered with large
rugs.
Outside
there is a stone terrace, formerly part of the old bakehouse, overlooking
a magnificent view of the Rhinog mountains. There is a stone
barn
and coal shed and children’s playhouse, once the pigsty!
There is ample parking and a large grassy play area for children. |
